Character Values, Beliefs, Morals, and Virtues The term "virtue" is used here as a good or admirable quality or property. In many cases, what is a virtue may also be described as a character value, a moral, and a principle. We do not intend to suppose that we have selected the right, proper, or even complete virtues that people may adopt. We similarly do not mean to infringe in any way on a person's chosen beliefs or values. Simply, we present the virtue in connection to the great accomplishments of some wonderful people and ask everyone to consider how this virtue might help.
Virtues of Each Hero We have chosen a single virtue for each of the 25 Real American Heroes as it relates to his/her actions and/or accomplishments. Doing so is inherently limiting because every heroic person, powerful action, and great accomplishment includes many, many influences. We acknowledge and honor every hero for all that s/he is, all the virtues s/he exhibits, and same for all others who helped them.
